This week I am overwhelmed with the gratitude I feel towards God for the many blessings in my life. In fact, last night I dropped a small container of potpourri that really should be placed elsewhere. This has happened before and normally I would be annoyed to have to pick up every tiny piece...what a pain! But, last night, as I was down on my knees picking up the debris, I decided I could turn this into something positive. For each piece I put back, I thanked God for something or someone in my life. I may have been half-dressed since I was in the middle of putting on my pajamas (You can ask Mike. He was quite confused when he walked in on this scene.). But, I got into that moment and 50, or so, potpourri pieces later, I had composed quite a prayer of thanks to the Lord!
Here is a Thanksgiving tree we made as a family. We each wrote down things for which we’re thankful. Some of Alex’s included: his video game system, his bucket of candy (from Halloween) and his baby sister in Heaven.
