A gymnast I am not!
Tonight the three of us played a game where you roll a large, colorful cube and pick a card of the corresponding color. The card tells you to do different things like: find something green, spin around in circles, sing a song, etc. Well, I ended up picking "Turn a somersault." Mike and I both laughed. Alex and Mike backed up under the desk to make plenty of room for me, nice. (Ed. Note: We HID under Alex's desk. When she started rocking forward there was no telling where she would end up! -Mike)
When was the last time I did a somersault? It really didn't seem like it would be hard until I tried to get in to position. The carpeted floor seemed way too hard for my sensitive head, so I put a pillow down. I kept tucking my head and thinking, okay, I'm going to do this, but was easier said than done. I was scared I was going to hurt my neck, head, or just could not figure out how I was going to flip my fat you know what. It would be a piece of cake if I was a petite little thing.
I asked Alex for a demonstration and I really studied him...what a little show off :-) He made it look so simple, "Like this, mommy." I even made Mike do it and he didn't seem to have a hard time. It took a lot of attempts (like jumping into a game of Double Dutch, or something), but I finally did it. It was quite comical, I must say. I'm glad there wasn't a "handstand" or "cartwheel" card or I'd really be in trouble.
Alex is really good at doing somersaults so we decided to have him do as many as he could in a row in the hallway. He did 8 somersaults one after the other...impressive, huh??

Ha! Well, for the record, I have never ever in my life done a cartwheel. There is something about swinging your legs up that high that freaks me out. I also can't stand on my head and I doubt I could do a cartwheel anymore. I bet you can guss that I was NEVER a good cheerleader :) They let me in for a little while because I have great spirit :)

I haven't done a somersault in so long...I would try one just to see if I can do one, but I remember it being something I had to work at as a kid.

I've played that game and picked the same darn card. It hurt like you know what. I think that's why they invented heating pads.

You are too hilarious! I love you! (And I'll teach you how to do a summersault tonight at bible study, okay?) Kisses!
