Birthday Weekend
We spent the weekend at my mom's in LaPorte to celebrate Alex's 4th birthday with family. It was quite the party!
We stopped at Coulter's Orchard in Westville on the way into town. They had some fun stuff for kids. I really wanted to pick out pumpkins, gourds, etc., but our Jeep was completely full with groceries, suitcases, party supplies and other junk...there was absolutely no room. We ran into my brother's friend, Danielle, who currently lives in Hawaii, but was visiting family back home. Hi, Danielle (who actually reads our blog!). Mike swears that I run into people I know pretty much everywhere we go, which is somewhat true. When we went to Nashville, IN over the summer, I ran into my old college roommate, Maryanne, who I had not seen since my baby shower. When we went to the circus in Indy, I ran into my best friend from middle school, Michele, who I had not seen since college--we both happened to go to Ball State.
Anyway, we spent Saturday partying. It was a beautiful day. Alex made out very well. Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us...we love you! Lara and Elliot (who is SO cute and talkative--just turned two) get the prize for traveling the farthest....all the way from Greenwood, a good 3-31/2 hours each way.
Today we just lounged at my mom's and then Mike and I met a couple of friends and their kids (Hi, Susie Bell and family!) at Redamak's in New Buffalo, Michigan. Can you believe we had not been there for 2 years?? Which is ridiculous since my mom lives like 20 minutes away! They have the best cheeseburgers in the entire world. I wanted to take a picture of Mike biting into the masterpiece, but he wouldn't let me. Oh, Redamak's, how I missed you. The meal did not disappoint. If you ever make plans to go there, let me know and I'll join you, okay???
Here are some pumpkin patch and birthday party pictures. If you can, will you leave a little birthday message for Alex on here? He loves to look on the site and he'll be tickled to hear from you :-)
Also, stay tuned. We hope to put a short, yet entertaining, video of Alex up on Monday night.

Happy Birthday, Alex!! :) Mike, Lindsay, Ruby, and Burke love you so much, sweet boy. We are very glad to be friends with you and your mommy and daddy. I hope you have a great week!
